Casa de Esperanza
The House of Hope orphanage was founded in Caranavi in 1992 to care for orphans and
abandoned children from the area. The vision of the Punt family, Dutch missionaries, was to
see these children cared for, educated and given the love of God. Children live in groups of 8
to 10 on a hill complex built 2 miles from Caranavi. Adolescents and teens live in separate
units nearer to town under the supervision of Bolivian caretakers.
Currently, there are close to 70 children and adolescents in the House of Hope and over 50 of
them attend the Life and Truth School. Nearly 20 students have now graduated from the high
school.
